the Parkers

when i was a freshman at AUS, i did a self-portrait painting as a final project for my figurative drawing class. the professor really liked it that it encouraged me to do another two self-portrait on my free time. one of my professors, was actually more like a friend liked my work and asked me to paint his three children.. i started painting this portrait in 2003.. i photographed the kids and started painting them on the big canvas. unfortunately at AUS, had been an architecture student, i had absolutely no time to concentrate on finishing the job. i used to work for a few days and leave it for months untouched. I would travel and take it with me hoping to finish it. just one semester before i graduated i finished it for the professor. it took me two years to finish it.. but the actual work was probably a month or less. i sent it to the professor to his home address in the states.. and he unwrapped it for his family in Christmas...
